The BRICS Network Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (BRICS-NCMSN) is established as the organisational support of the initiatives defined by the STI Ministers of the BRICS countries.

Russia is the Lead-Coordinator of the Working Group on Materials Science and Nanotechnology and of BRICS-NCMSN.

The Russian office, which is responsible for the overall coordination of BRICS-NCMSN activities, established at Ural Federal University.

Ural Center for Shared Use “Modern Nanotechnologies” are nominated as the Lead coordinating agency of BRICS-NCMSN in Russia (Focal Point).

 

 


  • New equipment: compact tubular furnace R 50/250/13/C450
  • Within the framework of a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Project 075-15-2021-677), new equipment was supplied to the UCSU "Modern Nanotechnology" - compact tubular furnace R 50/250/13/C450 produced (Nabertherm GmbH, Germany).

    Nabertherm has been designing and manufacturing furnaces and heat treatment equipment for various industries since 1947, supplying products around the world.

  • New equipment: Laser elemental analyzer LEA-S500
  • Within the framework of a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Project 075-15-2021-677) new equipment was supplied to the UCSU "Modern Nanotechnologies" - Laser elemental analyzer LEA‑S500 produced by SOL instruments. 

    SOL instruments has been developing this type of equipment for more than twenty years and supplies competitive innovative equipment for research and industry to more than 50 countries around the world.

  • Russian-Chinese Symposium on New Materials and Technologies
  • On November 25-26, 2021 at Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. Н. Tupolev hosted the Russian-Chinese Symposium on New Materials and Technologies (online)

    Director of the UCSU "Modern Nanotechnology" Professor V.Ya. Shur had an oral presentation: "Micro- and Nano-domain Engineering of Ferroelectrics Crystals"

    The symposium was held at the initiative of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASTRU).

  • Third Meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Materials Science and Nanotechnology
  • The third meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Materials Science and Nanotechnology was held on October 26-28, 2021 in a hybrid mode in the Amazonian capital, Manaus, Brazil. Online participants joined the event through the Zoom platform. The meeting was organized by Brazil by Dr. Felipe Bellucci, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI Brasilia)

    The third meeting was attended by a large number of representatives of all BRICS countries.

  • Ural Center for Shared Use “Modern Nanotechnology” has new equipment: ultrashort pulse laser stand based on TETA-10 femtosecond laser manufactured by the Russian company Avesta-Project, Troitsk, Moscow,

    "Avesta-Project" is a research and production company engaged in the production of innovative laser equipment for ultra-fast spectroscopy and microprocessing of materials. For more than 25 years, the company has been producing femtosecond laser equipment and supplying it to the Russian and international markets.
